  • Andrea Barrera

Andrea Claribel Coca Barerra is a 16 year-old singer-songwriter who is currently a sophomore at Napa High. Andrea is originally from El Salvador, moving to Napa with her mom and musical inspiration, Susy Guzman, and younger brother two years ago. Growing up in a musical family, she has been performing live since she was a toddler. She has a deep passion for music and works daily at guitar, ukulele, and piano along with singing and songwriting. She currently has 10 original songs (some written by the time she was 12) which Bugambilia performs regularly. In addition to her emerging music career, which includes winning IDOL NV 2024 and being selected for the prestigious Napa High Vocal Music Workshop, Andrea is an honors student and has quickly become fluent in English. Her dream is to become a professional recording artist and for Bugambilia to entertain audiences across the world.

Andrea was welcomed as the first Emerging Artist Grantee in 2024 with the goal of recording her first EP of original songs, gaining her in studio experience and a demo album to help establish her online presence and book gigs.

“I first became aware of Andrea as a contestant in the IDOL NV ‘24 competition, which Amplifi was excited to sponsor. It was hard to not take notice when she wowed audiences at the semi-finals with a beautifully haunting rendition of the Spanish-language folk song La Llorona – which she performed solo with her guitar and in full La Catrina makeup.  She returned the next day for the finals with an energetic and commanding performance of the pop hit Dance Monkey. The contest was full of incredible talent and she deservedly took home the first prize. Witnessing the diversity of talent from Andrea and all the young artists, made us realize what a deep pool of emerging talent there is and what a little support could do to help them unlock their excellence. Andrea is a performer who brings a special mix of charisma, charm, vocal talents, and emotionally engaging stories that deserve to be heard.” – Olivia Dodd, Executive Director, Amplifi

Andrea went on to work with Amplifi Napa Valley and is their very first Emerging Artist Grantee recently debutiing her EP “Capitulo No. 1".
