  • Speak No Evil

Speak No Evil is a a group of Bay Area musicians and the band is comprised of Bay area session and live players who’ve
worked in a variety of situations playing every kind of music conceivable. Inevitably their paths crossed, and they enjoyed playing with each other so much they’ve put together a project of their own. The music is a combination of original songs and some reworked covers. The common denominator being vehicles that make you want to dance, smiling all the while.

Speak No Evil is comprised of:

Bob McBain, currently the keyboardist most in demand by North Bay bands. Originally Bob had been playing with the legendary Levi Lloyd where he met Michael Israel and Tommy Miller. The three played together in Levi’s band for two years before his passing. Bob currently splits his time with Pete Floyd, The Workshop, Los Madhouse, Sonoma Shakers, and recently playing in Terry Sanders’ The Dylan Black Project. It is Bob who introduced Tommy and Michael to Terry Sanders.

Terry Sanders, a retired Oakland Firefighter, works tirelessly on community related issues, enjoys spending time with family, and devotes himself to his lifelong passion: music. As the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for the blues band The Dylan Black Project (named the Top Blues Band by the North Bay Bohemian in 2017 and 2018), Terry performs at public events and venues throughout Sonoma County. He recently met Tommy Miller and Michael Israel when jamming with Bob McBain. The three of them realized immediately they had a special chemistry and wanted to do more together. Speak No Evil is the genesis of that.

Tommy Miller is an incredibly in demand bassist playing with all sorts of projects. Originally with the Greg Allman Band, Tom played with Mickey Thomas’ Starship, Doug Clifford of CCR fame, Alvin Youngblood Hart and a host of others including the great Levi Lloyd where he met Bob and Michael. Tom, Michael & Bob are the nucleus of Los Madhouse as well as The Workshop. Upon meeting Terry, they felt right away both a musical and personal connection that led to the formation of Speak No Evil.

Michael Israel moved to the Bay area from New York where he did a variety of session and touring work most notably with A Flock of Seagulls, The Shanachie Allstars, Iggy Pop and of all things The Fat Boys. Upon arriving in the Area, he joined the critically acclaimed Lomaxes as well as projects with Noelle Hampton, Patrick Conway, the Mermen, Ruby Rakes (featuring Norah Jones), eventually joining Levi Lloyd and Friends. Michael has his own project, The Blender, where he brings together players from different projects. Terry, Bob and Tommy are among those featured. It is Levi’s friendship that eventually brought all these players together.
