Heean Ko Trio
Heean Ko (South Korea) received his undergraduate degree from Berklee College of Music in Music Performance and his Masters in Art from NYU. In 2003, he founded and currently leads the jazz group PRELUDE, recorded eight albums to date on Sony Records, and have been featured in Korean television and movies. PRELUDE has toured and performed throughout Korea, the United States, Japan, and the U.K. Additionally, Ko has recorded five albums as a leader of his own trio and in 2013 was awarded the top spot for pianist in a Leaders Poll. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Kukje University of Arts in Seoul. Last year, he formed the 'Heean Ko Hawaii Trio' with his musical friends and Honolulu-based musicians Abe Lagrimas, Jr. (drums) and Shawn Conley (bass). They will be celebrating the release of their debut album entitled Pink Island.
