  • Beleza

Beleza is a five-piece band based on Oʻahu’s North Shore, bringing together university-trained musicians with deep ties to the local community. Taking inspiration from music across various decades, the group takes strong influence from artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ella Fitzgerald, Los Panchos, Sade, and Rodrigo y Gabriela. With over four years of experience performing with one another in various ensembles in university, the five friends finally decided to form Beleza one year ago, starting off playing at friends’ house parties.

Beleza’s repertoire consists of a wide variety of musical genres including bossa nova, Latin jazz, swing, and soul. With improvisation and creativity at the forefront, Beleza composes fresh arrangements of classic jazz standards.

Beleza brings a polished and adaptable approach to every performance, and has performed across Oʻahu, including Waikiki, Kahuku, Haleʻiwa, and Kailua. They deliver a memorable live music experience grounded in musicianship, versatility, and a genuine love for music that will undoubtedly be felt by the audience.  Beleza features Mila Cutler on vocals, Samuel Alkema on guitar, Blake Peterson on trumpet, Ezra Gellert on trombone, and Guy Tawan on percussion.
