Andrae Alexander

Andrae Alexander, best-selling author, veteran of The Marine Corps, and a former pianist in The United States Navy Band of Washington D.C, has performed for the Crown Prince of Norway and countless other government and military officials. He is an accomplished musician, songwriter, producer, author and performer who has performed in Norway, Ireland, Japan, England, France, Egypt, Spain, South Africa, the U.S. and over 30 other countries.

Andrae has performed with, opened shows or recorded for artist such as NeYo, Kelly Rowland, K. Michelle, Maejor, Patti Labelle, Estelle, Musiq, Justo Almario, Common, Vanessa Hudgens, Dargen D’Amico, Evelyn Champagne King, Jill Scott, Martha Reeves, Debbie Allen, Mary Wilson, Cam Meekins, Greg Phillinganes, Freda Payne, Lily Tomlin, Marcela Detroit, Erykah Badu, The Roots, Kelly Price, Leon Ware, Lamont Dozier, Allee Willis, The Michigan Opera Theater, Michelle’, Claudette Ortiz, Dawn Robinson, Telma Hopkins, Chante Moore, Kenny Lattimore, Chrissette Michelle, Raheem DeVaughn, Lil’ Mo, Ledisi, Keith Sweat, Johnny Gill, Beverly Crawford, Alvin Slaughter, Solmaaz Adeli, and others.

Andrae has musical directed for such plays as “Wicked”, “Grease”, and “Footloose”. He has also performed in the Off Broadway Show, “Enter Redemption” starring Maritri Garrette. He has been seen or heard on shows such as “Empire”, “The Ellen Show”, “The Jimmy Kimmel Show”, “The Jay Leno Show”, David Tutera's “CELEBrations”, “B.E.T. Presents”, “The Today Show” and TV ONE’s “R&B Diva’s LA”, “The Special Olympics”, and a NASCAR race in Martinsvilee that was televised to millions of viewers.

Andrae has music on Fox’s show Empire one of which is with Kelly Rowland on the song “Mona Lisa” that also aired on Empire. He has 2 songs on K. Michelle’s album, More Issues Than Vogue and is featured in GLC and Kanye West’s video, “Big Screens”, Vanessa Hudgens song, “Last Night” on her Identified! Album, and on “Faux Show” as the composer and character Travis with Tim Bagley, Kim Coles, Erika Alexander and Scotch Ellis Loring to name a few. He producer on Grammy Nominated Raheem Devaughn’s album The Love and Masterpiece (Deluxe) on “Super Hero”, Cam Meekins’ album, Peace on the song “Good”, and Dargen D’ Amico’s album, D’io on the song “Crassi” on Universal Music Italia.

Andrae has recorded with Producer Jesse “Corporal” Wilson and with No I.D. for Estelle and Common as a featured soloist on their collaboration “Victorious”. He has finished his piano course, “OMG Piano course”, and published a book, “Build Your Music Career From Scratch”, which is an Amazon #1 best-seller in Music Business.

Andrae Alexander is currently the musical director at Wendy Raquel Robinson’s “Amazing Grace Conservatory” and the musical director and frequent collaborator for the hit songwriter, Emmy and Grammy award winner, Allee Willis with whom he has written the unofficial/official theme song for the city of Detroit titled, “The D” and is currently finishing a documentary with her. Andrae’s jazz album, “Urban Yogi” will be finished this Summer.
