Gianluca Pellerito Quintet

Gianluca Pellerito is a 21 year old drummer, lives in Boston and is attending the Berklee College of Music. He debuted for the first time when he was 8 years old at the Umbria Jazz Clinics. At 14 years old, Gianluca was the youngest musician to play at the Blue Note. At the age of 15, he played for mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg. At the age of 16, he was invited by Kennedy Family to play at Kennedy Center in Washington.

In 2012, he played for the Olympic Games in London with his quintet. In the summer of 2013, he played in the Umbria Jazz Festival, at the Piazza IV Novembre in Perugia, Italy, to present his new CD, Jazz My Way. He has played many shows in the United States including the Highline Ballroom in New York, Blues Alley in Washington and in Brazil. In December 2014, Gianluca went again to Brazil to play in Ouro Preto for the Tudo Jazz Festival.

Gianluca Pellerito has had two CDs made.
In 2009, his first CD, The Three Drums Show, was performed and recorded live in Palermo with Peter Erskine, Alex Acūna and Orchestra.

His second CD, Jazz My Way - Herbie Hancock Tribute, was recorded live at the 2012 Umbria Jazz Winter Festival and was presented in the 2013 Umbria Jazz Summer Festival. The CD was made with Universal Music’s label EmArcy Records.

Peter Erskine, Pellerito’s discoverer, says: "The first time that I heard Gianluca Pellerito play, it was with the Sicilian Jazz Orchestra during the Kenton project. He immediately made me think of myself when I was little. He is a very talented little boy. To stay on stage with him has been, and will still be, an honor for me."
