  • Cynthia Lin

    Creator of the 100 Days of Ukulele Project, Cynthia Lin is a singer-songwriter based in Honolulu, Hawai'i, known for her heart-stirring vocals, versatile ukulele-playing, and role as a global creative community leader. Through her popular YouTube channel (70+ million views) and approachable teaching style, Cynthia has introduced the joy of ukulele to a new generation of fans. With the motto “Practice your ukulele 5 minutes a day: it’s good for your brain, and good for your soul,” Cynthia has encouraged thousands of budding artists to embrace and share their own creative journeys.  As an independent artist, Cynthia has toured the globe and released 9 album recordings, including “Ukulele Days” and “Cozy Christmas,” both of which hit the Billboard jazz and world charts.   • Abe Lagrimas Jr.

    Abe Lagrimas, Jr. is a musician, composer, educator, and author who plays the drums, vibraphone, ukulele, and studied at Berklee College of Music. He competed in the highly prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Drums Competition and has worked with many different artists such as Eric Marienthal, Eric Reed, Kamasi Washington, Katisse Buckingham, Lalo Schifrin, Barbara Morrison, Michelle Coltrane, Jake Shimabukuro, Kenny Endo, and continues to be an in-demand session musician in Los Angeles. As a solo ukulele artist, Abe is a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award (Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts) recipient and has released multiple albums in the United States, Japan, and South Korea. He has headlined many ukulele festivals throughout the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, U.K., Germany, China, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, and Australia. Abe is also an active educator who has conducted workshops, currently teaches private lessons, and is an instructor for the Fender Play series. He is the author of Jazz Ukulele: Comping, Soloing, Chord Melodies (Berklee Press & Hal Leonard), which is available in stores worldwide and on Amazon. He currently endorses Canopus Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Beato Bags, Ko'olau Ukulele, Analysis Plus Cables, Fusion Gig Bags, and Roswell Pro Audio.

  • Shawn Conley

    Hawaiian born bassist and composer Shawn Conley grew up loving all types of music. This love of diversity of sound developed into a career that straddles many genres. He is a longtime member of the Silkroad Ensemble and a member of the Brooklyn-based chamber orchestra The Knights. Recent projects include Silkroad’s Grammy Award-winning album Sing Me Home, an upcoming release of the Brahms and Beethoven violin concertos with Gil Shaham and The Knights, the world premiere tour of Osvaldo Golijov’s Falling Out of Time (commissioned by Silkroad), as well as an international tour of the performance-art piece The Head and the Load created by South African visual artist William Kentridge. Shawn can also be heard on The Knights album Azul, featuring Silkroad founder Yo-Yo Ma.  As a studio musician, he has performed on multiple soundtracks including True Grit, Moonrise Kingdom, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Vietnam War documentary by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, and the Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Shawn studied at Rice University with Paul Ellison and in Paris, France with Francois Rabbath. He currently lives in Honolulu, where he is the Principal Bassist with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.
