"Captures the searing energy and unbridled imagination of smart young musicians deep in conversation" Miami Herald

"embracing elements of both pop music and the avant-garde with a strong flare for jazz music. . . of the here and now." Creative Loafing

"There are, quite simply, few players like him. A couple playing today that come to mind immediately are Dave Holland and Boris Kozlov”

Over the last decade Bassist Michael Feinberg has become a mainstay in New York City’s jazz and creative music scene. The Atlanta native is “fast approaching giant status” LA Weekly thanks to his diverse career working with legends and luminaries alike. Feinberg has been seen and heard alongside Billy Hart, Dave Liebman, George Garzone, Ambrose Akinmusire, Myron Walden, Lee Ritenour, Knower, Dayna Stephens, Ari Hoenig, Peter Bernstein, Daniel Platzman (Imagine Dragons), and many more.

Feinberg has released 6 albums as a leader with his 7th, his debut on Steeplechase, due out in 2020. His newest recording features NEA Jazz master Dave Liebman alongside his usual quartet (Noah Preminger, Gary Versace, and Ian Froman) and features 8 new compositions inspired by the birth places of his heroes (Elvin Jones, Jackie Robinson, John Lewis, Muhammad Ali, Miles Davis, and Charles Mingus).

His quintet for the Blue Note is an exceptional group of young musicians and artists in their own right from all over the globe : Korean drummer Jongkuk (JK) Kim, multi instrumentalist from Atlanta Morgan Guerin, Bahamian trumpet virtuoso Giveton Gelin, and Argentinian pianist Leo Genovese.
