Dizzy Gillespie, legendary band leader, mentor, and colleague of Tommy Campbell, was a key influence in bringing this vocal band project together.

This vocal bandís concept stems from years of touring and recording with Dizzy Gillespie, John McLaughlin, Sonny Rollins and the Manhattan Transfer. Janis Siegel, vocalist for Manhattan Transfer, is an original member of Vocal~Eyes, a great friend, and still periodically performs with the band.

Tommy Campbell notes, ďA great vocalist, IS a great musician!Ē For vocalist, musicians, artist, entertainers, performers, and avid listeners, Vocal~Eyes is a must-see and -hear project. The band reminds vocal artists of the reasons why they became vocalists.

The band has deep roots in jazz, spanning the genre from traditional to progressive, simple to complex. It branches out to reach a broad range of artistic platforms, exploring ethnic, contemporary and popular music vehicles, offering music enthusiasts a challenging and rewarding experience.
Vocal~Eyes also conducts master classes for variety of learning institutions including the Berklee College Of Music.
Classes are customized for any level of students and seasoned musicians.
