Gordon Chambers

Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Recording artist Gordon Chambers is a quadruple threat within the music industry. As a lyricist, Chambers has written several chart topping and GRAMMY award winning hit songs: Anita Baker's "I Apologize"; Brownstone's "If You Love Me"; Angie Stone's "No More Rain (In This Cloud)"; “Missing You”, the theme song from the film Set It Off (performed by Brandy, Tamia, Gladys Knight and Chaka Khan); and Yolanda Adams' "Someone Watching Over Me." His lyrics have been recorded by some of the giants of the music industry including Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, The Isley Brothers, Beyonce, Trey Songz, Jamie Foxx, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle and Marc Anthony. The winner of eight ASCAP songwriting awards and four Dove nominations, Chambers’ music has been performed at The American Music Awards, The Goodwill Games, the ESSENCE Awards, and The White House.



His solo albums have been nominated for Independent Soul Album of the Year by Soultracks.com and are among CDbaby's top R&B sellers. His 2005 debut album, Introducing Gordon Chambers, features guest performances by Carl Thomas, Glenn Lewis, Sara Devine, Roy Hargrove and Mike Phillips. Award winning singer Ledisi appears on Chambers’ second release, Love Stories. His most recent album, Sincere, includes tributes to his idols and mentors Donny Hathaway, Phyllis Hyman and Gerald Levert. Chambers has performed at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Apollo Theater, and B.B. King’s and for the Essence Music Festival and the Congressional Black Caucus. Chambers has toured extensively in the U.S.A., Europe, and Japan. He recently returned from South Africa where he served as musical mentor for contestants on the 10th season of Idols SA.
