Dessy Di Lauro's Neo-Ragtime

Los Angeles-based award-winning singer Dessy Di Lauro delivers a unique flavor of original music self-described as ‘Feathered Fro-Hawk Futuristic Art Deco Centric Harlem Renaissance Hep Music’, with a live show incorporating elements from the ''Speak Easy Era''. Her show transports you back to the days of the Harlem Renaissance Speakeasies in the 1930’s with an added flavor of urban contemporary edge.

Di Lauro released her current album, ‘This Is Neo-Ragtime’ in 2013 along with her music video, Jump ‘N’ Jivin’. The highly regarded Music Critics selected the opus as 'Album of the Year'.

During Di Lauro’s yearlong hiatus from the Big Apple, she has been honing her Neo-ragtime Jamboree show with residencies in venues around the city of Los Angeles, and now she will be back on our stage performing songs from her highly anticipated upcoming release ‘This Is Neo-Ragtime Vol.2.’ with the help of her top-notch band and horn section led by her producer/musical director/pianist, Ric'key Pageot. He, himself, has toured with the Queen of Pop, Madonna, on the Sticky & Sweet and MDNA world tours. recently wrote: “[Di Lauro’s] vocal prowess is undeniable, as she scats with an ease and comfort that is not seen much in today’s generation of singers. Her extensive powerhouse vocal range is as impressive.” (July 2014)

LA Weekly also recently wrote ''Her original songs are smart, sassy and sensual, layered with funky horn retorts and jazzy harmonies'' (February 2014)

Throughout her career, Di Lauro has toured as a featured singer for Cirque du Soleil’s Delirium throughout Europe and North America in major arenas including the Madison Square Garden, Staples Center, and the O2 in London. Di Lauro has also shared the stage with the likes of Patti Labelle, The Neville Brothers, Deborah Cox and Social Distortion.
