    Janis Siegel and Yaron Gershovsky of The Manhattan Transfer celebrate the release of their brand-new recording of legendary songwriter Cy Coleman's The Colors Of My Life.
    Over the past five decades, the voice of Janis Siegel, ten-time Grammy winner and eighteen-time Grammy nominee, has become one of The Manhattan Transfer's most recognizable trademarks. Alongside her career as a founding member of this musical institution, Siegel has also sustained a solo career that has spawned almost a dozen finely crafted solo albums and numerous collaborative projects.
    Yaron Gershovsky is a highly accomplished, internationally recognized pianist, keyboardist, arranger, composer and producer. Since 1979, he has been the Musical Director and Pianist/Keyboardist for The Manhattan Transfer, touring, recording and writing instrumental and vocal arrangements for them, including two Grammy award winning songs.

    BLUE NOTE NAPA is on the 1st floor of the historic Napa Valley Opera House and is an intimate 180-seated live music club and restaurant. World-class and local Bay Area artists perform here. Before and during the show, we offer a sophisticated dinner menu and a wide selection of wines and cocktails to order.

      For nearly 60 years, Janis Siegel’s voice has been an undeniable force in the world of jazz and popular music. A founding member of THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER, Janis’ powerful and versatile voice became one of the groups most recognized trademarks – singing lead on some of their biggest hits including “Boy From New York City”, “Operator”, “Chanson D’Amour”, “Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone”, “Mystery“, “Spice of Life” and “Birdland”. Performing for audiences around the world, TMT and Siegel amassed a large international fan base and garnered consistently high critical praise, including 10 GRAMMY awards and 18 nominations.

      Siegel has also enjoyed an eclectic solo career, spawning more than a dozen finely crafted solo albums and participating in numerous collaborative projects with some of the world’s most renowned musicians, producers, composers, and arrangers. She also co-hosts WBGO’s SINGERS UNLIMITED radio program with Lezlie Harrison and VOCAL GUMBO – a virtual music program celebrating the vocal arts with Lauren Kinhan of the New York Voices.

    • Yaron Gershovsky

      Yaron Gershovsky is a highly accomplished and Internationally recognized Pianist/Keyboardist, Arranger, Composer and Producer.

      He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston, following a successful early career in Israel where he was born. Soon thereafter, he launched his musical career in the United States, touring with the great jazz saxophone player Pharoah Sanders, and recording with the legendary Wayne Shorter on his album Atlantis.

      Since 1979, Yaron has been the Musical Director and Pianist/Keyboardist for the world-renowned vocal group The Manhattan Transfer, touring, recording and writing instrumental and vocal arrangements for them, including Grammy award winning songs.

      Yaron has also recorded and performed with other greats, including Lonnie Smith, Steve Gadd, Abraham Laboriel, Lew Soloff, Janis Siegel, Ray Brown, Grady Tate, Don Sebesky, The Count Basie Orchestra, Richie Havens, Take 6, and Toots Thielemans.

      His Broadway credits include vocal arranging for the Tony Award winning musical “City of Angels”, and vocal arranging for the musical hit “Swing”. He was also the Musical Director for numerous other shows, and workshops, as well as keyboardist for the musicals “The Phantom of The Opera” and “Les Miserables”. Yaron had the honor of working with the famed conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, and performing with him in Carnegie Hall.

      In the Jewish music field, Yaron has performed with, produced for and recorded with such greats as Mordechai Ben David, Avraham Fried, Shlomo Carlebach and Debbie Friedman.

      Throughout his career, Yaron continuously writes, performs, and records his own music, and has released numerous CDs, such as “Personal Notes” and “State of Mind”, and most recently “Up Close from Afar – Solo Piano”, and “Up Close from Afar – Collaborations”, which highlight his creative work during the Pandemic enforced isolation. Yaron’s latest CD “Transitions” was released in January of 2022 to much public acclaim.

      Later that year, Yaron arranged two songs for the Grammy nominated Manhattan Transfer’s latest release – “Fifty”.

      Yaron’s newest release, a collaboration with Janis Siegel, “The Colors Of My Life” – The Cy Coleman Songbook, is to be released on June 7th, 2024, on the Club44Records label.
