Yazmin Lacey
Yazmin Lacey never followed the conventional route.
Starting at 27, the East London songstress has gone from playing Nottingham pubs to headlining KOKO, earning Questlove’s admiration and supplying the honeyed vocal at the heart of Ezra Collective’s ‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing’.
Her brilliant second album Teal Dreams pushes her warm, jazz-rooted soul into ska, lover’s rock and indie, without losing her candid storytelling core.
Now, we catch her at Blue Note London with her instinct-led career gathering serious pace.
