Blue Note London is suitable for all ages. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult , must order a table ticket and leave by midnight. No under 18's are allowed at the bar area. A max of 4 tickets per person and per household applies. Tickets in excess of 4 will be cancelled. All seating is first come first served. Bar Area seating is limited. Once capacity is reached, the remaining Bar Area becomes standing room only.
Kokoroko formed in 2014 after Sheila Maurice-Grey (trumpet/flugelhorn/vocals) and Onome Edgeworth (percussion) met on an arts trip to Kenya, bonding over a shared love of music and a desire to connect young people in the African diaspora with Afrobeat and Highlife.
Their breakthrough came in 2018 when the seven-minute ‘Abusey Junction’ appeared on Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here compilation. Recorded in a single afternoon, the track became a viral hit, amassing more than 75 million streams and establishing Kokoroko as one of the leading voices of London’s new jazz generation.
Their self-titled debut EP followed in 2019, selling more than 20,000 vinyl copies. In 2022, they released their acclaimed debut album Could We Be More, a rich blend of Afrobeat, Highlife and jazz that reached No. 30 on the UK Albums Chart and led to extensive touring across Europe, Australia and Canada.
Now more than a decade into their journey, Kokoroko are pushing beyond the boundaries of the “London jazz” label. Their Could We Be More Remixes explored Afro-house, amapiano, Detroit house and techno, reflecting the diverse musical influences of London’s Black diaspora.
That evolution continues with their second studio album, Tuff Times Never Last — a bold new chapter for the band.
