  • Jean Carne

Philly Soul and Rare Groove legend Jean Carne comes to Blue Note London for two exclusive nights with her full live band.

Possessing an extraordinary five-octave range, Carne is one of soul, jazz and R&B’s most distinctive voices. She first gained recognition alongside Doug Carn before becoming a key figure in the Philly Soul sound with Gamble & Huff’s Philadelphia International Records.

Her celebrated catalogue includes classics such as “Don’t Let It Go To Your Head,” “Was That All It Was,” “Free Love” and the #1 R&B hit “Closer Than Close.” Across a career spanning more than five decades, she has collaborated with an extraordinary roll call of artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Earth, Wind & Fire, George Duke, The Temptations, Phyllis Hyman, Roy Ayers and Grover Washington Jr.

Still a vital force in music, Carne’s recent work includes a release for Jazz Is Dead alongside Lonnie Liston Smith, Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest) and Adrian Younge.

Experience one of the defining voices of soul music live for two very special nights at Blue Note London.
