Baaba Maal

A giant of West African music, Baaba Maal has spent four decades taking the sounds of northern Senegal across the world.

Born in Podor, he has built a body of work that moves between traditional rhythms, soul, blues and electronic music.

That reach has taken him from Djam Leelii to “There Will Be Time” with Mumford & Sons, while his voice helped shape the sound of Black Panther and Wakanda Forever.

Now he brings a brand new quintet to Blue Note London, drawing those musical worlds together on stage.
