Miles Davis at 100. In a Silent Way remains one of the great pivots in jazz: cool, electric and impossibly modern more than fifty years on. For Miles’ centenary, trumpeter Byron Wallen reworks the album with Rob Luft and the GAYAN Gamelan Ensemble, bringing Javanese percussion into its world of trumpet, guitar and electric keys. The night reaches beyond the record too, with selected cuts from Miles’ early-70s electric period.
